Thursday GREEN Here’s the weeds in the local river, complete with ducks. We've had some gorgeous sunny weather here in the UK recently, although the past couple of days has seen some rain. There is something

Over the weekend my husband and I travelled down to Walton Castle in Clevedon in Somerset on the south west cost on England to attend the wedding of some friends. The day was beautiful and the venue has

It's rather rainy and grey and wet and windy in my part on England at the moment, so unfortunately nothing looks very colourful. We went to the wedding of two of our friends this weekend just gone; and

What happens if instead of the common and delicious hops used to flavour beer nowadays you use herbs and spices? The answer is that you get gruit beer. source This is one of the beers I've sent @buzzbeergeek

Hey, I've been away on a little holiday and came back to find a (lovely)jungle in my greenhouse. It's amazing how quickly plants will grow in 4 days. The great thing about growing hydroponically is that

Were Trying, But We Cant Catch Up! Some of you already know my story, I was hurt on the job 2 years ago, I have been going through Physical Therapy ever since the injury, I was scheduled for back surgery,

With more and more fruit ripening, today's crop provided for a full salad. We've got some peas, tomatoes, cucumbers and a couple of nasturtium flowers. Cucamelons, also called mouse melons for obvious

Yesterday was a bit like graduation day for me; done my first all grain brew. It will be a Pale ale, hopefully with a full body. I've used 3kg of Maris Otter extra pale malt, 500 g of Crystal Malt and

I am currently in the middle of cleaning and prepping the floorboards in the spare bedroom, ready for painting. I’ve chosen Little Greene floor paint in Gauze Dark. This will be paired with white walls,

Found this little thing earlier. I've seen Duff Beer before but never tried it so I got one and this evening I had it while pottering around the greenhouse. Won't really go into a lot of detail about this

I hate Artex. When we first moved into our house in October 2015, every room had a ceiling covered in Artex. Smooth swirly Artex. Rough stalactite-style swirly Artex. Regular stalactite Artex. All of it

A fine Monday to you all! I spotted this rather dapper looking pair of wee strawberries hanging out of the bottom of the strawberry planter and thought they'd be cheerful red addition to the colour challenge.

At this moment in time, my husband and I have half done our hallway stairs and landing. There’s more to be done, but some other jobs need to be finished first, and it’s much better than it was before.

Here in England it’s Gazpacho weather. I’m a weak English whimp and I don’t cope well with the heat. I don’t like the cold either. Guess why talking about the weather is a national obsession in England?

I’ve just been given the base for a 1950s coffee table by my parents. It’s made of oak with a clear varnish, and measures 51.5cm by 60cm and is 61cm high. As yet I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to
