The topic of this post could easily be a sign hanging in my thoughts right now—just like the inspiration I’d need to start writing. How many times have I felt that emptiness, as if I were trying to give up on putting a particular thought into words? Today is one of those days when I need to rummage through memories to see if a story might emerge, find inspiration in a song, or recall a tale that, in tune with the flow of life, offers a valuable lesson. Even if I found nothing within myself, there would be many scenarios and experiences from others from which we can also draw lessons and morals about our existence. In the worst-case scenario, even if I were consumed by discouragement, those very emotions would help raise the curtain on a heartfelt catharsis.

It sounds contradictory, but even on those days when you don’t feel like writing, you can still find something to convey. It’s as if the expression “I live. Therefore, I write” applies. And that’s how you create a connection that allows you to pour out all the emotions and thoughts you’ve been building up over time. Every day of our lives is a unique page that is never repeated—neither in our own lives nor in anyone else’s story. It might be easy to identify with what happens to others, but we’re all an open book that takes on meaning and color through our actions and decisions. Thinking about this a bit, it would be quite an interesting exercise to consider what the title of our book would be if we had to define it as of today. How many things are still to come, and how many have you already left behind? You are the director, the screenwriter, and the protagonist of your own story.

I admit that I’m not an avid reader, since I find it more interesting to see things from the other side. I commend those who, in an act of loyalty, openly express their love for reading and how easy it is for them to immerse themselves in a sea of words that nourish the soul and refresh our very being. How far can our writing reach? And when I ask this question, I’m specifically referring to the impact our words can have on someone else, because some people write for themselves while others write for a particular group of people. But given the variety of tastes and topics, the truth is that there are countless works of writing that exist today thanks to the boldness of an inspiration that you cannot—and do not want to—keep to yourself.

In a world where audiovisual content is becoming increasingly prevalent and recognized, many view the future with suspicion and even fear, imagining a time when writing no longer exists, and those stories and reflections will remain only as vague memories tucked away in a trunk. To think this way would be like believing that one day humanity will cease to exist, since, in my opinion, writing and reading are part of our human essence. I believe we will never be able to capture in just a few books the grandeur of what surrounds us, what is part of our existence, and what we can evoke through such a wonderful gift as imagination—and the ability to be creative and craft a story, a piece of prose, a verse, or a sonnet from something that might go unnoticed by others.

The gift of writing is an art in which each person decides whether to stand before the canvas or become part of the landscape that inspires it. The world seems like a universe of blank spaces waiting for the appreciation each of us can offer, and without needing to be like anyone else, it blossoms like a vast garden where every tree, flower, and plant has its own special place. What this life has taught us is that people come and go, but every book or piece of writing can be here to stay and survive the test of time and oblivion.
