Another weekend, another adventure in the van. This time our lovely friends came with us and they brought their beautiful Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retreiver, Odin. Tollers are a super interesting breed of dog. Their beautiful ginger colouring is reaaally fun to photograph!

The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever is a medium-sized gundog bred primarily for hunting. It is often referred to as a "toller". It is the smallest of the retrievers, and is often mistaken for a small Golden Retriever. Tollers are known to be intelligent, easy to please, alert, and high-energy dogs. The name "toller" is derived from their ability to lure waterfowl within gunshot range. The breed originated in Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada.[2] The American Kennel Club ranks the toller as the 87th most popular dog breed.[3] --From Wikipedia

This breed of dog loves the water, and Odin is no exception. We were camping on the absolutely stunning Cowichan Lake, and Odin was in the water easily most of the weekend. He loves to be in it, chasing sticks, digging for rocks, and swimming with his people. I brought my camera along and was thrilled to snag some stunning shots of Odin in the water at sunset. This is my favourite:
