Lots of people refer to their dog as their shadow, because they follow them around everywhere. It's a sweet expression. My dog is a better shadow than my own shadow. He's at my feet even when the sun is hidden!
I am working on re-training my photographic eye to see a bit differently with my dog photography. I am looking at shadows, reflections, different compositions. My goal is not to create pet portraits, but to have the animal acting as a medium in my composition. Dog is paint, camera is paintbrush. I'm having fun!
Is your dog constantly at your side?
