Long long ago, before the world was filled with cars and gadgets, there lived a greedy and selfish mouse who loved to collect shiny and new things.
While other mouse stole food he on the other hand would sneak into people's houses at night and take whatever glittered even if it was something useless to him. People tried locking their doors and covering every tiny entrance in their houses but the greedy and selfish mouse always found a way to get in.

One night, while the greedy mouse was taking a midnight stroll to clear his head for his next mission, he overhead a group of children who were staring at the sky, talking about the shiny dots in it.

The greedy mouse had never looked up at the sky before, or maybe he had but he had never given much thought to all the shiny things that made it glow because he had so many beautiful things down on the ground that he wanted and still doesn't have, he wanted more.

" My mama told me that the sky is made of all the wishes that has been made by the people before us" said the first girl

" Oh so that's why they wish upon stars" said the second

" Don't be stupid CeCe, the sky cannot be made of wishes, that's bunkers" said the third and only boy amongst them

" It is true my mama told me " replied CeCe
" If it ain't made of wishes then what is it made of" the second girl asked

" Lean in closer" said the the boy while looking around to see if anyone was paying attention to them, but unknown to him they had gained the attention of the greedy mouse who hid in one of the bushes behind them.
The children leaned in closer to the boy as he whispered the answer to them, but still audible enough for the greedy and selfish mouse to hear.

" Those tiny dots in the sky are actually white gold and even though it looks small, well one of em is bigger than the sun and it's worth more than a mountain of diamonds"
All the children stared amazed at this new revelation.
" Guess what y'all?" The boy continued
" What?" The children replied in unison.
" I'm gonna get one"
The children gasped at his words including the mouse.

" How are you gonna get up there" asked CeCe

" It's easy, I'm gonna steal the witches broom and fly my way up there.
" Really, can I come too" asked another scrawny looking girl who had been quite before.

The greedy and selfish mouse didn't wait to know what the children thought, all he cared about was getting those shiny white gold for himself. The selfish and greedy mouse went home and all through the night he couldn't fall asleep, by daytime he was already cooking up an idea on how to get the white gold and when it was night again he already had a plan ready.
The mouse gathered a team to steal the white gold but first they needed to steal the witches broom. That night the greedy mouse and his friends went into the house of the wicked witch, two were assigned to be on the lookout while the greedy mouse and the remaining three were to find the broom. Together they searched and soon the broom was found. The greedy mouse was so happy at the pace his plan was going.
They took the broom and went to the top of the mountain, the greedy mouse sat on the broom and when the others wanted to join him he took off leaving them behind. They screamed and called out to him to come back but the mouse was too selfish to share the liquid gold with anyone.
"Y'all are fools" he replied to them from way up in the sky.
The greedy mouse thought about how it would feel like when he would hold the white gold in his hand.

The thought of that brought excitement to him and as the wind touched his face he kept thinking about how wealthy he would become.
The greedy mouse continued to fly and fly and fly until his bum and his arms hurt but he was still not close to the white gold.
" How far is it" he said to himself.

The mouse was hungry and thirsty but there was nothing to eat nor drink because he had hurriedly left his teammates behind without taking anything.
He was very hungry and there was nothing he could do about it. He wanted to give up and turn around but whenever he thought about how much he would make from the white gold he would continue.

The greedy mouse continued to fly and fly and fly until he finally died of hunger.
it is said that till this day the Soul of the greedy mouse is still in search for the white gold.
