The Monster Month : An Office Story

Monster month

Management Team Preparing Reports

October is always regarded as the monster month in our company because it is always extra busy for us in the Paper Industry.
In the First week of October, after the management meeting, the General Manager announced: “This week, we will have our yearly stock count, productivity report and presentation, and yearly budget review”.

At that, everyone became quiet while Lara gently whispered, “Monster month.” As if to say, on your marks, everyone swung into action that Monday, including the lazy admin support assistant.

Warehouse Team fulfilling orders

On Tuesday, orders increased with an influx of emails. The warehouse, Tally, and printers were all very busy. However, the monster struck: all the computers began hanging; while the IT guys were fighting it, the printers started malfunctioning.
However, our biggest monster was the deadline. Time continued to tick while everything was going awry.’

Suddenly, the team woke up to the challenge and fought back with every ounce of energy. They formed synergy and pushed back individually and collectively, supporting each other and closing gaps. The push continued with each minute counting through Wednesday and Thursday.

Employees pushing through tasks collectively

By midday Friday, every task had been completed. Normalcy returned as employees were in a relaxed mood, excited that all the tasks were completed before the deadline.

The Managing Director stepped in and announced, “Together, Each Achieved More.” Excellent work and brilliant steps, team.
Everyone went quiet, but not without a response from Lara, who whispered. “The real monster has gone”. The monster month has gone.

At that moment, the MD turned back to see who was talking, but Lara stopped abruptly. Everyone burst out laughing while the MD stepped out.
Truly, the monster month has gone victoriously.
