Oh, not again, Sandra sighed, looking straight at the wall clock. Not again. She shook her head as she continued to soliloquise. We arrived at the hospital after midnight, and immediately the doctors and nurses went into action, doing everything within their power to ensure a smooth surgery.
How come there was no oxygen? How come? Is this another attempt to play a fast one on Uncle? Dad had severally drawn his attention long ago regarding the rifts in his political camp. But you know, Uncle is a die-hard friend of that Chairman; he never believes in quitting; he never believes in no victor, no vanquished. However, the other camp is holding tight to the appointments.
Haa, look at where we are, look at the situation we all found ourselves in. Who will save us from this dilemma? Who will even believe our story? Sandra continued, lost in deep thoughts that night.
Suddenly, her mum stepped into the ward and went straight to Michael's bed and touched him. Immediately, he opened his eyes and gently whispered, mum. Raising her hands in jubilation, her mum knelt beside his bed in thanksgiving for what had happened.
Looking at her wristwatch again, she smiled and said, “After midnight came the victory”.
