¿Cómo llegaron los videojuegos a mí y qué estoy jugando actualmente? [ES-EN]

Un poco de contexto

Para nadie es un secreto que hoy en día el término "jugar" tiene varias connotaciones, aunque esto históricamente siempre ha sido así.

Se puede entender de forma despectiva haciendo referencia a la acción de procrastinar. No obstante, también como una forma de pedagogía, ya que se ha demostrado que enseñar mediante dinámicas de juego fortalece la memoria y estimula al cerebro para la atención de los temas a impartir.

Pero también, como una forma de catarsis, en la que es posible drenar la ansiedad, tristeza, y demás sentimientos negativos. Aunque también, por simple diversión.

Sin embargo, sea como fuere, los vídeojuegos llegaron para quedarse; ya que "buscar la felicidad " es una de las profesiones más antiguas. No sólo desde el placer sino también desde la recreación.

Así nos lo demuestran las antiguas civilizaciones, ya sean egipcias, griegas, aztecas, nórdicas o asiáticas.

Pero, este artículo aunque trate de cómo llegaron los vídeojuegos a mi vida quise dar esta breve reseña porque marcaron un antes y un después en mi vida.

Mi historia con los videojuegos

Estaba yo cerca a los 7 u 8 años cuando recibí mi consola, un Nintendo 64. La emoción que mi hermana y yo teníamos (más yo que ella por edad) era increíble.

Rápidamente, mi papá me ayudó a instalarla en el TV y disfruté del primer juego "Super Mario 64".

Las misiones, mundos y demás me cautivó tanto que me llevó a todo el universo de Mario. Convirtiéndose Mario Kart en uno de mis preferidos para siempre.

Ni hablar de los juegos de Zelda. Un clásico que junto a Mario transformaron mis tardes en horas mágicas.

Teniendo ya un poco más de edad recuerdo claramente que estaba en mi 4to grado de primaria, ya había probado consolas portátiles y llegó el "Game Boy". Era llevar la experiencia de Nintendo pero a todos lados, sin necesidad de TV, sólo un sitio donde cargar las baterías.

Esa revolución, nos bautizó a mi hermana y a mi como Team Nintendo cuando pocos años más tarde llegó la "Nintendo DS" que se robó nuestro corazón como ninguna otra consola.

Tardes llenas de diversión entre mi hermana y yo en las que incluso en ocasiones se nos sumaba nuestra bella Abuela María que hoy descansa en el Oriente Eterno.

Además de Nintendo, a quienes siempre fuimos fiel en casa. También pudimos probar la Playstation 2 en su momento de estreno y la Xbox360, aunque la suerte no nos duró mucho con esas consolas.

Mi hermanita, nunca sabía conectar las consolas al TV ni colocar los CD y el mismo fin tuvieron ambas, un error de colocación del CD las daño.

Creo que ese era el motivo por el cual siempre quiso el DS antes que jugar otra cosa, porque me dí cuenta tarde. Siempre jugábamos juntos y con mis primos, todos conectados en Mario Party o Mario Kart.

Ya estando en bachillerato, la Wii era la nueva consola de Nintendo en la que su innovación eran controles portátiles. Todo un éxito a mi criterio y mi gusto.

No obstante, en todo momento algo que marco mis juegos favoritos eran las series y cultura POP de mi niñez; el cual estuvo influenciado por Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh y otras series animadas, además de los superhéroes de la época como Spiderman.

Así pues, aunque me acompañaron por mucho tiempo las consolas de Nintendo dándome gratos momentos de mi vida, por una situación financiera de aquel entonces debí venderlas.

Hoy en día (por los momentos) no tengo consola donde jugar, pero gracias al avance de las tecnologías he podido disfrutar de seguir jugando desde otros medios.

¿Qué estoy jugando actualmente?

Por fortuna tengo un celular que me permite tener los 3 juegos en el mismo dispositivo sin ningún problema.

Desde mi Infinix HOT 10i tengo un shooter (juego de armas) un MOBA (un juego de batalla en arenas) y un TCG (juego de cartas coleccionables)

El Shooter con el cual me entretengo en clan es el clásico Call Of Duty Mobile un juego de Activision realizado por "Timi Games" el cual juego desde el 2019. Cada temporada puede ser una joya ya que se esmeran en realizar un juego digno de este estilo para celulares. Estoy anhelando el famoso Call Of Duty Warzone que el próximo año tendrá su estreno.

El MOBA del que les hablo no, no es League Of Legends, es Pokémon Unite el cuál está súper para tener un squad coleccionar Pokemones y además dar unas buenas palizas los equipos rivales. Su calidad en gráficos y jugabilidad para no ser de consola Nintendo es muy recomendada. Este juego lo empecé recién en el 2020 y me siguen impresionando sus actualizaciones.

Y por último mi TCG preferido de la infancia Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links. Un juego de duelo de monstruos, en el que además de elegir la naturaleza de tus monstruos puedes tener cartas de magia y trampa que te harán salir victorioso en cada partida. La idea es coleccionar las cartas tanto en el juego como en la vida real y que tu mazo de cartas adquiera valor con tu jugabilidad e historial en el juego.

Este TCG al igual que los otros juegos que mencioné, tienen categorías de competición profesional, aunque no es mi caso, siempre se le es fiel al intro de Pokémon: tengo que ser siempre el mejor.

Por último, Zelda aunque es muy difícil jugarlo sin consola, hay una versión en emulador del juego "Zelda Stone of Tablets III" en internet que recomiendo sin problemas.

Tengo fe en que pronto volveré a tener mis consolas y disfrutar como siempre de los videojuegos en su formato original. El cuál estuvieron siempre conmigo en momentos de crisis, ansiedad, tristeza y hasta dudas.

A little context

But also, as a form of catharsis, in which it is possible to drain anxiety, sadness, and other negative feelings. But also, for simple amusement.

However, be that as it may, video games are here to stay, since "the pursuit of happiness" is one of the oldest professions. Not only from pleasure but also from recreation.

This is demonstrated by ancient civilizations, whether Egyptian, Greek, Aztec, Nordic or Asian.

But, although this article is about how video games came into my life, I wanted to give this brief review because they marked a before and after in my life.

My history with video games

I was about 7 or 8 years old when I received my console, a Nintendo 64. The excitement my sister and I had (more me than her by age) was incredible.

Quickly, my dad helped me install it on the TV and I enjoyed my first game "Super Mario 64".

The missions, worlds and so on captivated me and took me into the whole Mario universe. Becoming Mario Kart is one of my favorites forever.

Not to mention the Zelda games. A classic that together with Mario transformed my afternoons into magical hours.

Being a little older I remember clearly that I was in my 4th grade of elementary school, I had already tried portable consoles and the "Game Boy" arrived. It was to take the Nintendo experience everywhere, without the need of a TV, just a place to charge the batteries.

That revolution baptized my sister and me as Team Nintendo when a few years later came the "Nintendo DS" that stole our hearts like no other console.

Afternoons full of fun between my sister and me in which even sometimes we were joined by our beautiful Grandma Maria who today rests in the Eternal East.

Besides Nintendo, to whom we were always loyal at home. We were also able to try the Playstation 2 at its premiere and the Xbox360, although our luck did not last long with those consoles.

My little sister, never knew how to connect the consoles to the TV or place the CDs and the same end had both of them, a mistake in placing the CD damaged them.

I think that was the reason why she always wanted the DS before playing anything else, because I realized it late. We always played together and with my cousins, all connected in Mario Party or Mario Kart.

Already being in high school, the Wii was the new Nintendo console in which its innovation were portable controls. A success in my opinion and my taste.

However, at all times something that marked my favorite games were the series and POP culture of my childhood; which was influenced by Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh and other animated series, in addition to the superheroes of the time as Spiderman.

So, although Nintendo consoles accompanied me for a long time giving me pleasant moments of my life, due to a financial situation at that time I had to sell them.

Nowadays (for the moment) I don't have a console to play, but thanks to the advance of technologies I have been able to enjoy playing from other ways.

What am I currently playing?

Fortunately I have a cell phone that allows me to have all 3 games on the same device without any problems.

From my Infinix HOT 10i I have a shooter (gun game) a MOBA (a battle arena game) and a TCG (collectible card game).

The Shooter with which I entertain myself in clan is the classic Call Of Duty Mobile an Activision game made by "Timi Games" which I play since 2019. Every season can be a gem as they take great pains to make a worthy game of this style for cell phones. I am longing for the famous Call Of Duty Warzone which will be released next year.

The MOBA I'm talking about is not League Of Legends, it's Pokémon Unite which is great to have a squad to collect Pokemon and also to beat up the rival teams. Its quality in graphics and gameplay for not being a Nintendo console game is highly recommended. I just started this game in 2020 and I'm still impressed by its updates.

And finally my favorite TCG from my childhood Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links. A monster dueling game, in which in addition to choosing the nature of your monsters you can have magic and trap cards that will make you victorious in each game. The idea is to collect the cards both in the game and in real life and that your deck of cards acquires value with your gameplay and history in the game.

This TCG like the other games I mentioned, have professional competition categories, although it is not my case, it is always faithful to the intro of Pokémon: I have to always be the best.

Finally, Zelda although it is very difficult to play it without console, there is an emulator version of the game "Zelda Stone of Tablets III" on the internet that I recommend without problems.

I have faith that soon I will have my consoles again and enjoy as always the videogames in their original format. Which were always with me in moments of crisis, anxiety, sadness and even doubts.
