This song is timely, potent, and resonant to me. It was just the right fit at the moment when I first heard it, a week ago, in the height of the #blacklivesmatter movemet. Through the medicine of this song, with its haunting melody, and the storytelling given by the song carrier, I found myself imagining the slow rhythm of plantation life, filling with emotions, feeling compassion for those struggling through racism and similar injustices. I believe it is important that we sing and hear songs of this nature at this time, taking steps toward Harmony, Love, Truth, and Justice in this world.

This artist's first entry in the Hive Open Mic is an amazing wave of positivity and artistry. The flow-state he achieves is masterful to me, and I felt delighted to surf these words, riding an ocean of on-the-fly writing. This is a divine vibration, in my opinion, and I feel so lucky to witness what he's sharing here. Greatly looking forward to more music of this nature.

Banditos is a band I hadn't heard until just today, through their "Healin' Slow" song, performed live here, and presented with a one-shot music video. Wow upon wow. It's every level of beauty—genuine gorgeousness, brilliance, and pleasant surprises with cherries on top. The vibrato is stunning. The instrumentalists are amazing, blending country banjo acoustic flavors with flashy electric strings. By the time the backing vocalists enter, I'm in awe. Ah.
