There are many things you might like to do on Christmas Eve - a drive out for some last minute click and collect shopping is not one of them. I had the brainwave of leaving it until 3pm with just an hour before the store closes - because everyone would be done and home by then...

The route out is Buttershaw Drive, Reevey Road West and then Wibsey Park Avenue

Above we head down St. Enoch's Rd with a nice view over Bradford town centre.

Continuing down Little Horton Lane we stop with the Ice Rink on our left and also the National Museum of Film and Photography.

Then on the left we have the Bradford Alhambra Theatre.

Heading down Valley Road more great views.

Foster Square Retail Park is off Inkersley Road, seems like everyone is still here - queue to get in and out of the retail centre. After I little wait I decide if I go into the parking I will never get out - so decide to use a side street people of been crossing the road from the park to.

Plenty of space here, these big buildings are now derelict - past of Bradford's industrial past.

After a quick trip in to get my goods we are off again, we pause for the traffic lights - giving quite nice bit of cloud movement time lapse.

Taking a circular route to get back, to take in a local shop for some more supplies. We head onto Queen's road a main route into and out of Bradford from Shipley and Keighley side.

On Ingeleby Road we pass another retail park - nothing needed from here today though.

Then we hit Great Horton Road - my usual Tesco is on the right here - again not calling here today.

More sitting in traffic, slow progress but at least I can admire my headlights reflected in the back of the car in front. Running with side lights so the DRL's are slightly dimmed, but I can have the Samsung LED fog lights on - I like that double white light look when it's dull but not dark.

Old Road, this is a damn steep hill - I would not take it on a snowy or icy day - today it's a handy shortcut.

driving13.png

A brief stop on Mandale Road for the local shop for some final supplies.

And back home, longer journey time then expected but at least it was without incident.

A rough idea of the route - I ran out of way points to get it to follow my exact trip but it's a good idea at least! Enjoy the full trip below
