I’m starting to struggle a little, the daily incessant grind is taking it’s toll. And I have done zilch for Christmas, no cards sent yet, youngest boy has his presents just because I knew what he wanted - everyone else no idea. Work, sleep rinse repeat.
The scaffolding platform turned up prompt at 9am, fortunately the window fitter was around to unload all the metal work. Amazingly he built it up himself - 8.2m high it’s a fair size but I did move some of the parts around - aluminum tubes incredibly light - I remember when trying to move a set of double ladders needed you to be built like the Rock. But the base wheeled frame of this you can push with one hand - I’m still impressed he managed to rope up the top panels of it as it built up with no help though. Must grab a photo tomorrow while he is using it.
It’s a 7 day minimum rental cost - so you could have it for two days if that’s all you need - still pay the seven day price. So we have it longer then needed for the job - it is being picked up Monday 23rd - but when the bottom platform got wheeled in tonight I had the idea it could get some extra use - my work lighting still has aging fluorescent tubes and I keep changing them when they die for LED battons which are more energy efficient. Tottering about on step ladders to do it is no fun, so the platform would be super easy - and there are areas I could not normally reach - so while the tool is around hopefully Friday I can fix the lighting and tidy up some roofing lighting that was long ago disconnected.
Taking a walk this evening down to Victoria Kraft Beer Cafe helped you my step count with their coffee order - five kilos of coffee carried down over my shoulder in a Brazilian coffee sack - yes I am the coffee Santa. And this is how busy I am - they offered to give me a free pint - and I refused because I had to go back to work and do more work to try and catch up. Refusing free beer - that’s a criminal offense I’m sure.
