Well I was expecting a ton of green coffee to arrive today and it didn’t, which means it will arrive Monday my busiest day of the week -_-
What did arrive was a penalty notice from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs claiming I had not paid class 1a nics. It’s amazing anyone in the UK suffers running a business the paperwork is not only tedious and convoluted but even when you pay what is due they loose it and then try to fine you for non payment.
As it was paid by BACS bank transfer I have the bank statement proof the fee due to was paid - and you can only work that out by completing the required forms - so it’s a complete joke they are sending me a fine for not completing a form that they had the calculated amount due for paid well before the due date.
So time wasted getting together all the proof I had paid what was due, and writing a letter to the appeals department. The worst thing is for many small businesses this sort of fine could bankrupt them - and if you don’t pay the fine in time it accrues interest.
So Monday will be hectic with green coffee due in, and the Christmas orders are starting to roll in too.
