Open a program by double-clicking on the program's icon
Minimize, Maximize and close a program
1. Opening a program
You open a program to work with it, for example MS Paint.
To open a program on my computer you move the mouse pointer
You double click (click the left mouse button quickly twice) on the icon. Click here to see more
2. Minimize, Maximize and Close
When a program window opens you will see it appear in front of you
In the top-right corner of the program window, there are 3 important buttons.
The minimize button
The minimize button hides the window
The window is not closed; it is just hiding in the task bar below.
You can open the window again by clicking on the icon in the task bar.
The maximize button
The maximize button make the window big as the whole computer screen
When the window is maximized the maximize button changes into another button called Restore
The restore button;
You click the restore button to return the window to its original size.
The close button;
You click the Close button to close the window.
When you clicked this icon the program is closed and is no longer there.
To open the program again, double click on its icon on the desktop as we have done when we started to open the program Click here to see more.
