We are always in pursuit of what we do not have, and the moment we get it, we start yearning for something else. This is how we are designed. Our desire for a good life, changes, and new things is insatiable.
The more we have, the more we need. It reminds me of myself nine years ago. I was literally praying to God to allow me to earn a certain amount monthly. God answered my prayer, and I later started earning more than that amount. But then, right at that moment, I started yearning for more because my dreams had also become bigger, and my needs and wants had become bigger.
This is why someone with a bicycle wants a bike, someone who owns a bike wants a car, and a car owner wants a jet, and so on. We are always after what we do not have.
Many people spend their time chasing money. By the time they feel they have earned enough, old age has already crept in, and suddenly, they remember the years they missed chasing it and how they forgot to live.
Some people mistake what it means to live, though. They believe that because you are always indoors, it means you are not living. But I say it is not necessary to go out all the time, to go clubbing and partying, just to prove that you are living life.
Some people are living their best lives just by staying indoors, working, earning money, and, lastly, enjoying the company of their families.
If anything happens to me today, I have lived a good life, and I have enjoyed every part of it. But guess what? If I am given the chance to spend more years on earth, I will live right and enjoy every moment because we do not get those moments twice.
