What inspires this post of mine was a movie i watched earlier today, the title was 13 hours:The secret soldiers of Benghazi... I am not reviewing this movie but there is a scene in it that almost made me cry..
It was towards the ending, the soldiers have lost hope of surviving because the enemy have more fighters and weapons than them... most of them were injured and couldn't fight anymore, just when they had given up on fighting and awaiting death, one of them sighted load of trucks coming in....
At that moment, they were left with no option, if those people in the truck where there to help them, they would survive but if it was the enemies truck, that would be the end of them...they were so scared and could only hope it was their saviour that came for them...
The truck stopped at the front of their gate and one of the soldiers made the peace sign which was returned by one of the armed men in the truck and right there he announced to the others and jumped for joy because their last hope came in to for them...
If they didn't come or arrive a little bit late, then the enemies would have gotten there first and kill them all....and this was what almost moved me to tears, the fear on their faces and how they hope those who were in those trucks came to rescue them... and that was what also prompt the title of my post... The last hope
Our life story is like this movie, we battle for survival everyday of our life, the rich ones are winning the battle because they have better weapons[money] while the poor ones can only work hard and hope for better days, sometimes life can be so cruel to them which would leave them no other options than to rely on others to survive...
Most time they get disappointed because they didn't see anyone willing to lend a helping hand which makes them to take drastic decision that can take their life...
This is why those who are privilege to have things going well for them must learn to be compassionate towards others because you never can tell, you may be their last hope and when you turn them down, it will break their heart ...
You can't solve all the problems in the world, but if someone comes to you for help, do not send them back the way they came, if it is 1/4 of the help you can do , do it and you will be remembered for doing your best for them....
