On the roadie I run a 39/54 with 11/28 cassette. It was never my choice though as my mate left his bike at my house and I have slowly taken ownership of it. The cassette has a good spread but I should

Surely it's a personal preference? I find myself wishing for a large range cassette on the roadie with the hills and mountains around here. That said a 40t is seriously big seeing as mountain bikes only

Nice ride, I've never been a fan of indoor trainers, but this Zwift stuff seems to be quite fun, maybe I'll give it a try someday - the trainers are pretty expensive. 205W average is pretty good too.

Good luck man. I love racing, even though I feel like I'm dying every time I do one. How long is your trail race and what's the elevation looking like? 170km on an MTB is tough, even if it's on paved roads.
