Human life is all about the money - isn't it?
I'm a human and I can tell you, being human often sucks or is anyone among you who's life went smooth like a satin cover on a kingsize bed?
Most of our goals in life are tied to money. Most of the things we do and want to achieve are tied to money in one or the other way. It's always about what one can offer and what is needed and wanted. Fair thing, to an extend.
We are social animals and give and take is a very natural concept. Deep in our brain lays a core, the brain stem, that is so wise and helpful but we have forgotten to use it. Instead our prefrontal cortex is taking over and we ended up organizing our lives around money. We ended up measuring the worth of things with money. Values, morals, traits...doesn't bring you food on the table or are those the standards driving the world?
Now, since I'm a human being, my life is aligned towards money as well. I need it for the basic human needs. Food, shelter, health, leisure. It already starts to become complicated with us humans as we tied the most basic needs to money.
It's about resources and the definition of those. And the matter of how one can pursue gaining resources or not. We reach 8 billion people around the globe. Can each one of them have the same chances? Obviously not, just watch the news. Is every resource a human being can offer valued the same? Obviously not, just watch the news.
It's of course a matter of how a life went, where you are born, where you grow up and what resources are available. I was reading a bit here lately and the overall topic Resources was swinging with in a lot of reads. For matters regarding the outside world as well as in connection to Hive / Crypto.
What can one offer in a blockchain like Hive?
There are technical resources, human resources, monetary resources and probably some more. Most of those resources can be traded as a resource in a very clear way. A visible give and take.
But what about those visible - non visible - resources like empathy for example.
Less ego, less self-interest, less calculation but more humanity, a formula that is hard to achieve.
Empathy can be trained like a muscle. It's visible when written but has to still reach the receiver on a different level, the non-visible one. It is also a resource that takes self reflection, understanding of people to an extend and is usually solution-orientated. But it can cost the giver something. Empathy steals ones own strength, gnaws at relationships, can be manipulated.
Closing the circle to Hive, you can transport empathy, good communication skills or proof of brain via your content and engagement. For some it's a valuable resource that they are willing to push the button for.
To be able to be online takes time. Time indeed is money. The outside world demands you paying for pretty much anything. So having the time to grow a new branch on the tree of possibilities is not equally shared among humans, some of the possible 8 billion branches grow slower or faster or not at all.
Each life with all its circumstances is different and demands different steps and actions, at the expense of other things. Being able to step up on Hive demands a certain amount of time and something of value of some sort. But it also demands the resources to do so. Either you can live off Hive / Crypto or you live off FIAT.
Living off FIAT requires more these days and it makes it harder to focus on a possible new, as the amygdala is alarmed because of inflation, the prefrontal cortex still ruling because money is needed and the brain stem remains undiscovered by us.
Inequality does not mean injustice, but injustice causes inequality. In the end sometimes circumstance beats everything you have to offer. The world runs on "try if you can", if you can't - bad luck.
What the point of this post is? Well, I'm not even sure, perhaps the realization that resources are relative, but humanity will tread the abyss of monetary valuation of all things to the point of their own ruin. Good for those who hold resources of some kind, bad for those who don't, no matter the circumstances.
