Hello Splinterlands and Hivers community! It's been several weeks since I started this series of reviews of the Conclave Arcana epic reward cards. This was partly because I was actively buying Archons and Core and Escalation units to shape my Modern deck, and it's been an excellent investment! Since this season started, I've quickly reached Gold League I and I'm about to cross over to Diamond III. The rewards are still far from optimal, but at least I can say that I'm getting several copies of common and rare cards to accumulate, since from the second season in July until now I've been spending my glints on epic reward cards.

Hola comunidad de Splinterlands y Hivers! Han pasado varias semanas desde que comencé esta serie de reseñas de las cartas épicas rewards de Conclave Arcana. Esto en parte fue porque estuve activamente comprando arcontes y unidades Core y Escalation para darle forma a mi mazo de moderno y vaya que ha sido una excelente inversión! Desde que empezó esta temporada rápidamente he llegado a la liga de oro I y estoy a punto de cruzar a Diamante III. Las recompensas aún están lejos de ser óptimas pero al menos puedo decir que consigo varias copias de cartas de rareza común y raras para acumular, ya que desde la 2da temporada de Julio hasta ahora he estado gastando mis glints en cartas rewards épicas.

This season we revealed our second batch of epic reward cards, 13 in total. We were lucky enough to get our first golden copy, Kazira Vaelstrik of the Dragon class. I hope to get more golden copies like this when this season ends because I urgently need more collection power from the Conclave Arcana set to participate in the Gold League tournaments. We already have four regular foil cards at level 2, and we still have the Death and Neutral classes at level 1, but I'm sure that with the next batch, and with luck, we can get them to level 2 and make better use of them in the Gold League.

Esta temporada revelamos nuestro segundo lote de cartas rewards épicas, 13 en total compramos y tuvimos la suerte de conseguir nuestra primera copia dorada, Kazira Vaelstrik de la clase dragón espero poder conseguir más doradas así cuando termine esta temporada porque necesito urgentemente más poder de colección del set Conclave Arcana y así participar en los torneos de la liga dorada. De resto, ya tenemos 4 cartas de lámina regular en nivel 2 y todavía tenemos las clases muerte y neutra en nivel 1 pero estoy seguro que con el próximo lote y con suerte podremos llevarlas a nivel 2 y así aprovecharlas mejor en la liga de oro.

But going back to what I mentioned at the beginning, this post is the second part of the epic card reviews. You can see the first part in the image on the right, where we reviewed the epic Fire and Water cards, with their advantages and disadvantages. At that time, I was still actively using the Foundations Archons, so I might update that first part later now that I have three legendary Core Archons. For now, we'll continue this review with two more epic reward units: Joraki Venshiro and Rila Fen, who are Death and Life class respectively. Let's begin!

Peor volviendo a lo que comenté al principio, esta publicación es la segunda parte de la reseñas de cartas épicas, la primera parte la puedes ver en la imagen a la derecha donde reseñamos las cartas épicas de fuego y agua, con sus ventajas y desventajas. En aquel momento, todavía usaba los arcontes Foundations activamente, por lo que quizás actualice más adelante esa primera parte ahora que tengo 3 arcontes legendarios Core. Por lo pronto continuaremos esta reseña con otras 2 unidades épicas rewards: Joraki Venshiro & Rila Fen, que son de la clase muerte y vida respectivamente. Comencemos!

Joraki Venshiro: Our first ranged card with Painforge is key if you combine it with the right cards. So far, I've bought magic cards with this ability like Songale and Portia Nyr, and rewards I've obtained from chests like Torrent Sniper. In this case, I was very interested in this Death card for two reasons: first, its Painforge ability, and second, its lineage: Drakoshan, designed for use with the Dragon class. Let's look at its pros and cons.

Joraki Venshiro: Nuestra primera carta rango con painforge son clave si las combinas con las cartas adecuadas, hasta ahora he comprado cartas mágicas con esta habilidad como Songale, Portia Nyr y rewards que he conseguido en los cofres como Torrent Sniper. En este caso tenía mucho interés por esta carta de muerte por 2 razones, la primera es por su habilidad pain forge y la segunda es su linaje: Drakoshan idean para usarse con la clase dragón. Veamos entonces sus pros y contras.

One of the things that makes this card stand out is its excellent stats. It has good speed (3), a large amount of health (6), and its damage from level 1 is quite good (3). But the most remarkable thing about this card is that it can continue to increase its damage, thanks to the Painforge ability. This ability allows it to increase its attack as it takes damage from units with Reckless or Electrify. Unfortunately, I only have this card at level 1, but if it were at level 3, it could easily break through defenses, which is the biggest problem for ranged units.

Una de las cosas por las que destaca esta carta son sus excelentes estadísticas, tiene buena velocidad (3), gran cantidad de vida (6) y su daño desde el nivel 1 es bastante bueno (3). Pero lo más destacable de esta carta es que puede seguir aumentando su daño, ya que cuenta con la habilidad painforge, esta habilidad le permite aumentar su ataque conforme recibe daño vía unidades con reckless o con electrify. Lamentablemente apenas tengo esta carta en nivel 1 pero si estuviera en nivel 3 podría atravesar las defensas que es el gran problema de las unidades con ataque rango.

For now, the main problem with this card, besides having it at level 1, is its high mana cost. So, if you plan to use it in a battle, make sure it's at least a battle that costs over 35 mana. Otherwise, everything about this card is ideal for mixed lineups of ranged and magic attacks.

Por ahora el principal problema con esta carta además de tenerla en nivel 1, es su alto coste de mana. Entonces si piensas usarla en un combate asegurate de que almenos sea una batalla que este sobre los 35 de mana. De resto todo en esta carta es ideal para alineaciones mixtas de ataques rango y mágicos.

The best option for using this epic card is with the Dragon class, especially with Sheng Xiao, who allows you to place the Poison Burst tactical ability on 2 units. We'll reinforce this by placing a decoy unit, Songale, who, in addition to attracting all attacks, has the Reckless ability, so we'll place it next to Joraki Venshiro to boost its damage. And for tanks, we'll use Gargoya Lion since we can use a unit from the Wild format, and Ujurak Brave to reduce magic damage.

La mejor opción para utilizar esta carta épica es con la clase dragón, especialmente con Sheng Xiao que te permite colocar la habilidad táctica poison burst a 2 unidades. Esto lo reforzaremos ubicando una unidad señuelo, Songale que además de atraer todos los ataques, tiene la habilidad reckless, así que la ubicaremos al lado de Joraki Venshiro para potenciar su daño. Y de tanques usaremos a Gargoya Lion ya que podemos usar una unidad del formato wild y Ujurak Brave para reducir el daño mágico.

The opponent applied Rakless to our units, so we took damage when attacking. We lost the decoy and the healer, but at least they managed to activate Joraki Venshiro's Painforge. By the start of round 3, with our tank falling, the last two enemy units were poisoned, and Joraki Venshiro managed to eliminate two units in the vanguard in round 4.

El oponente nos colocó rakless a nuestras unidades por lo que recibimos daño al atacar, perdimos el señuelo y al sanador pero al menos lograron activar el painforge de Joraki Venshiro y para el comienzo del 3er round, con la caída de nuestro tanque las últimas 2 unidades enemigas son envenenadas y nuestro Joraki Venshiro logra eliminar para el 4to round 2 unidades en la vanguardia.

In the 5th round, although we lost the card with Painforge, it had already done enough damage to seal the victory. As you can see, it's a card with a lot of potential; it just needs to be leveled up to 3 so it can penetrate defenses, and, as much as possible, used abilities that increase its maximum health to prevent Rakless or Electrify from consuming it. On to the next battle!

En el 5to round aunque perdimos la carta con painforge, ya había hecho el suficiente daño como para sellar la victoria. Como pueden ver, es una carta con muchísimo potencial, solo hace falta llevarla a nivel 3 para que pueda atravesar las defensas y el la medida de lo posible usar habilidades que aumenten la vida máxima de esta carta y así evitar que el rackless o electrify terminen por consumirle. Vamos a la siguiente batalla!

Rila Fen was the first and only epic card I ever got from reward chests. In the first batch of cards I revealed, I was lucky enough to get three copies of this card, making it my first level 2 epic. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a good combination with the Foundation Archons to take advantage of this card until I bought my first legendary Dragon Archon. But let's take a look at this card's characteristics.

Rila Fen fue la primera y única carta épica que he conseguido en los cofres de recompensa, en el primer lote de cartas que revelé, tuve la suerte de conseguir 3 copias de esta carta convirtiéndose en mi primera carta épica lvl 2. lamentablemente no conseguía con los arcontes Foundation una buena combinación para aprovechar esta cartas hasta que compré mi primer arconte legendario dragón. Pero veamos a continuación cuales son las características de esta carta.

This card has some pretty good stats. It has enough HP and defense to place it in the last slot, and since it has the Divine Shield ability, it can absorb the first attack it receives without taking damage. In addition to its good attack, it has the Final Rest ability, which blocks resurrection abilities, including Resurgence and Soul Siphon. This makes it very useful if you can anticipate the enemy's strategy based on these abilities. The only downside, like the card we reviewed earlier, is that it consumes a significant amount of mana; my recommendation is to always use it in battles above a 35 mana limit.

Esta carta tiene entre sus ventajas unas estadísticas bastante buenas, cuenta con la vida y defensas suficientes como para ubicarla en la última posición y como cuenta con la habilidad divine shield, puede absorber el primer ataque que reciba sin sufrir daños. Como añadido además de tener un buen ataque, tiene la habilidad final rest que bloquea las habilidades de resurrección incluyendo resurgence y soul siphon, por lo que es muy conveniente si logras adivinar la estrategia enemiga basada en estas habilidades. Como único contra, al igual que la carta que reseñamos anteriormente, consume una cantidad de mana importante, mi recomendación es usarla siempre en batallas por encima de un límite de 35 de mana.

This battle is relatively complicated, as it has reverse speed and penalizes ranged units. Therefore, we'll need to focus our strategy on magic units, with Lifeward Channeler and Rila Fen in the back row to protect the rear and Janni Rebel to boost the damage of melee units in the front row. These aren't exactly slow units, allowing us to take advantage of reverse speed, but being magic units, we have a 100% chance of landing attacks even if we're not the first to strike. We'll use Sheng Xiao again as the Archon, since we might lose units in the back row and the front row, so we'll apply the Poison Burst ability to these units.

Esta batalla es relativamente complicada, ya que tiene velocidad inversa y castiga el uso de unidades rango, por lo que tendremos que enfocar neutra estrategia en unidades mágicas con Lifeward Channeler y Rila Fen en la última posición para proteger la retaguardia y Janni Rebel para potenciar el daño de las unidades melé en la vanguardia. In the first round, both of us lost our frontline tanks. Ours was Saltwraith Bulkhead, who performed his role well by poisoning the last two units in the enemy lineup. Then, in the second round, we lost Lifeward Channeler, but that was his purpose: to sacrifice himself to poison the third unit, which was the first to attack. Ultimately, the poison took its toll, and since our Rila Fen had the Divine Shield ability, Calamity couldn't steal his life, so he succumbed to the poison in the fourth round. The most interesting abilities of this card are unlocked at levels 4 and 5, but for that, I need level 3 Archons, so for now, we'll have to adapt to the abilities and stats of this card at the current level.

En el 1er round ambos perdemos nuestros tanques de vanguardia, el nuestro era Saltwraith Bulkhead que cumplió bien su función al envenenar a las 2 últimas unidades en la alineación enemiga. Luego en el segundo round perdimos a Lifeward Channeler pero esa era su función sacrificarse para envenenar la tercera unidad que era la primera en atacar. Al final el veneno terminó por hacer su efecto y como nuestro Rila Fen tenía la habilidad divineshield, Calamity no pudo robarle vida así que terminó por sucumbir al veneno en el 4to round. Las habilidades más interesantes de esta carta se desbloquean en el nivel 4 y 5 pero para eso necesito los arcontes lvl 3, así que por ahora tendremos que adaptarnos a las habilidades y estadísticas de esta carta en el nivel actual.

With these two units, we've now reviewed four. We'll need three more cards to finish this series. Of the two I just shared with you, my favorite was Joraki Venshiro because of her Painforge ability, and I can't wait to get her to level 3 to unleash her full power!
