It looks ok, with just two sticks.
But when people have done this with a lot of points, the results are… just messed up.
And the problem that the sun's distance can't be ascertained without knowing the shape of earth, so, neither can the shape of the earth be determined from the position of the sun.
The concave earth in the above picture does line up. But so does a ball earth with a diameter 2x what we declare now. Well, much more oblated.
I believe the sun's position is on a logarithmic scale/space (some kind of contraction across more and more space) But this belief is really unprovable, but it shows up in magnets and quantum fields. But, if true, it messes up everything. (where the sun can appear 3,000 miles away, and really be 93 million miles away.
