That is the thing that the both adults working destroyed the most.
The holiday season is only joyful if you have someone to share the joy with.
So much so that i am quickly crossing the line where i think it is now healthy for adults to have imaginary friends.
They individual house for the nuclear family was beginning of the end.
Instead of having multiple generations under one roof all helping each other out in the ups and downs that is the life cycle, now we have this monstrosity that only works for a tiny fraction of time.
We have destroyed what is good for the family.
And now, that the largest generation is getting to the point where they need help and companionship, there is nothing. And they made it that way.
The younger(est) generation will build multi-family units... like mansions, but without all the wasted open space. It will be very different.
And maybe the holiday season will return with its magic.
