Degradable cutlery... didn't work out so well.

It is about getting things to last long enough to use, but not too long, else it really doesn't degrade.
And that is even more of a concern if people are going to eat it.

It shouldn't just be digestable, it also needs to palatable and not bad for the digestive tract. It is not that you can't eat it, it is that everything you put in your stomach affects you.
