In the future, there will bands of kids who go around and dismantle shopping centers and suburban sprawls. Taking out everything that is reusable.

The future is just different.
All those brightly lit malls that were the heart of the 80s-90s have come and gone.
All that is left is for nature to reclaim them.

And, think about this. All of our industry went to China.
But there are tons of factories, just sitting there with all kinds of machinery being unused for decades.
We need some engineers to go in and see what things can still be used.
