It's School Holidays here in New South Wales, Australia and in early Spring the weather is perfect for a bit of outdoor activity. We are very fortunate to have the Boongaree Rotary Nature Play Park very near to our house and I'd have to say that it's probably the best free playground that I've experienced anywhere. I'm a very big kid myself but there is still something there for me to enjoy with the little ones.
I was a bit wary of taking too many photos today because people can get a bit funny these days when strangers are taking photos of kids - even if it's harmless. However, I thought I'd throw a couple of photos in here to give you the idea. There are things for climbing, rope bridges, slippery dips and swings - all that very typical stuff. There is also some not-so-typical stuff like zip lines, a learn to ride area, outdoor gym equipment, big hamster wheels and some engineering water / sand play which is a bit hard to describe (I should have taken a photo).
The park has been open for a couple of years now but it's been opened up in stages. Most recently they've put in a top quality pump track and there is also an impressive skate park that's just been added (see photo above). The concrete is super smooth and no doubt designed NOT to take 3 layers of skin off when you come unstuck. It's a pretty good day out for families of all ages and located in the small town of Berry, which a beautiful part of the world. Just next to the park other kids were flying kites and I thought this couple had the right idea enjoying some tree shade and some quiet time away from all the crazy kids. Check it out if you're ever in the area.
