"My guilt lies in the fact that, as a citizen of my country, I allowed this war to happen. I could not stop it. And I ask that this be reflected in my sentence.
But I would also like my guilt and responsibility to be shared with the organizers, participants, and supporters of the war, as well as those who persecute those advocating for peace.
I continue to live with hope that one day, this will happen."
This statement goes beyond personal accountability. It addresses the collective guilt of a society that has enabled the war and remains complicit in its continuation.
Alexei Gorinov has become a symbol of courage and truth in a nation gripped by lies and oppression. His words give hope that one day, responsibility for the war will be borne by all its architects, enablers, and silent witnesses.

Серед океану мовчазної згоди і страху в росії зрідка виникають одиниці, яких можна назвати героями або хоча б людьми серед нелюдів. Одним із таких є московський муніципальний депутат Олексій Горинов.
У 2022 році він став першим засудженим за так званим «законом про воєнні фейки», отримавши сім років колонії за відкритий виступ проти війни. Але навіть за ґратами путінський режим не полишив Горинова в спокої: тепер його звинувачують у «виправданні тероризму».
Остання промова Олексія Горинова, яку судді демонстративно залишили залу, прозвучала як щире покаяння. У своєму виступі він визнав вину за війну як громадянин росії, що платить податки та обирає владу. Це були слова, яких не вимовив жоден із так званих «хороших росіян».
