Yesterday, I had the chance of visiting BBz in Budapest, a place that has received a lot of great reviews on TripAdvisor and from friends of mine. I, therefore, looked very much forward to visit the place to taste the hamburgers I had heard would be magical.
The restaurant is located next to the Gozsdu Udvar entrance in Kiraly utca, a fantastic area with lots of restaurants and a fantastic atmosphere. If you ever come to Budapest, this is an area worth visiting. But, is the restaurant BBz worth a visit? Based on my experience, I would say no!
The first problem we had in the restaurant was the service. It was simply terrible, and it felt throughout our entire visit as if we annoyed the waiter. He even corrected us repeatedly as we ordered because he claimed that we used the wrong word during our order (and that when native Hungarian speakers used to visit restaurants ordered).
I later ordered some mugs of water (as we had quite a lot of children with us), and that clearly annoyed our waiter as well (even though we all ordered normal drinks as well), but the normal water made him quite annoyed.
But, in the end the orders were placed and after a while our hamburgers were served. They all looked nice, and they were quite tasty, but they weren't hamburgers I would return to this place to taste. They weren't that special, and if I take into consideration the terrible service, this remained as one of my worst restaurants experiences in Budapes so far in 2019.
