Great writers are on Steemit! Understatement? I think so :)
Since joining Steemit in August I have been trying to take the time to read as much as I can. I have found wonderful writers like @ezzy,
@michelle.gent,
@goldenarms,
@meesterboom and many more.
In some cases I have been using the works of these writers to spark musicall ideas for me. This is at the heart of what I love about Steemit, collaboration. I enjoy seeing great pieces of art inspire new ideas what probably not exist without the catalyst. This process has existed more 99% of the greatest artist. In each of their own times they have drawn inspiration from the artists and works before them.
In a recent post I recapped several of the musical interpretations I have done on the visual artist @opheliafu. You can check out that post here - "Inspired by @opheliafu" A Collaboration Reflection.
One writer that caught my eye when I first came to Steemit is @johnjgeddes. I love his writing. There is something about his writing that connects with my violin. I find it easy to turn his words into sound.
The first piece of writing I worked on was the poem "Alone in the House." As with my first piece for @opheliafu, I was frightened to death, but
@johnjgeddes was very receptive to my work. I continued on to compose pieces around several of his pieces of writing. I am sure there will be more to come.
