This was my seventeenth full season playing Splinterlands, and the third one with the new rewards system. There are quickly becoming too many milestones to count now, as this is also the last season before the Modern/Wild split takes place! This was a relatively smooth season as I was able to make the usual jump up to Silver on day 2 and played out the majority of the season at a Silver I rating.

My season performance wasn't amazing, but "good enough" for me. A 57.9% win rate is reasonable, and really anything over 50% should be decent. I was playing in Silver and this was good enough to average 10-12 Silver chests per day.

I was able to get a couple of decent tournament showings this past season. Picking up some SPS from official tournaments is always nice, and the tournaments organized by Clove are a lot of fun! My win rates are still nothing to write home about, but I'm hoping they will improve as I grow my collection and get more experience with the limited card selections available in the different tournament formats.

I made a slight change this season to my chest strategy - I was playing the vast majority of my daily play in the Silver league, but opted to go up to Gold once in order to earn Gold chests for my season rewards. It gives you less chests overall, but the ones that you do get are more valuable that way - at least for the amount of season points that I was earning.
Unfortunately I had to settle for a paper win this season, as my expected value may have been higher, but the RNG gods were not on my side this time and I didn't get anything too special in the reward chests. A legendary and a gold foil rare are both very nice, but there was a distinct lack of packs or other high value drops, and I ended up coming in well below my EV for chests this season.

Rental expenses were slightly up this season as I experimented with renting out higher level cards. My records tell me that I earned somewhere in the neighborhood of 2,000 DEC from renting out cards on a rental account I have set up, so I was well in the net positive for overall rental costs - and that isn't even taking into account all of the DEC drops from rewards chests.

As I write this we are down to single digits - just 9 days left in the SPS airdrop! I would like to accumulate as much SPS as possible, and at times like this I really wish that I had started playing Splinterlands earlier, as I would have had more time to accumulate SPS before the end of the airdrop period.
Overall not a bad season. My play went decently well, though I had a bit of bad luck with the rewards. You can't always have amazing results though - if I can play well enough and make the right decisions to maximize my EV then that is the best I can do.
