I highly recommend getting on the next door network. The way you see your neighbors will change. What it has made me realize is we could use it to fight crime. This app unites the community in a powerful way. I've seen people do fundraisers for injured neighbors on there.
Another thing it does is empower the community to fight crime. Where I live we were having a problem with drug houses. The police would never seem to do anything about it. So what some people did in my community was organize a team of people using the app to set up surveillance where they logged and photographed everyone going in and out of the house. I saw they were doing that and walked my dog by the house and saw them set up with cameras. They've successfully shut down quite a few.
Another time about 6 months ago I caught someone breaking into my neighbors house. I was able to run over and confront the person. I questioned him a little bit and then he fled the scene. I was able to immediately send out an emergency message to all my neighbors with a photo. Just think about how powerful that is. Here he is.
