RE: The Making of My Recent Tommy Hearns Illustrations and Thoughts on Process
There's often an initial stage known as "flatting" where flat colors are applied, not necessarily to even serve as the final base colors but just to separate out all the individual elements on

Oh yeah, I love how motivating these events are. It's always good to feel like you're among your "tribe" for a while!

Well, I started to reply but got carried away and it morphed into a full post! Thanks for giving me a kick to do some blogging!

I always do too much shopping… I still have unread items from Baltimore two years ago! 😅 I appreciate the offer and I’ll definitely take you up on it. I’ve started booking cons for next year and will

Well, HiveList is basically setting up easy storefronts for people, but the backend payment is handled by which you could integrate yourself on your existing websites too if you wanted. At least for the

No prob! If it looks like something you want to try let me know. It'd take me a few days to unstake some, but I'd gladly provide you with some LIST tokens, staking certain amounts is required for shop

There’s definitely been new stuff since we last kicked ideas around. Check out I’ve had my eye on using it myself.

I've done little with personally producing NFTs, but I definitely think Hive's very own NFT Showroom is a natural way for anyone on here to "get their feet wet." I need to do more learning &

Whew! Lots to unpack here so I'll try to work through and will probably stray into some random thoughts of my own! So much of what you describe is very familiar to me as well. I'm very much the same in

Thanks so much! I had a Cintiq before that lasted about 7 years and broke down around the time I got my first iPad Pro. I've gotta admit the iPad Pro drawing experience beats out the Cintiq in almost every

I personally find point size to be all over the place depending on font and other factors. For the last comic I had printed I just made sure to do several physical printouts of my lettering early on and

Thanks @steevc! Interestingly enough there was less sketching of ideas than normal. Since it was five pieces all in a bit of a montage style I did rough sketch each individual element, but then I simply

I’m curious as to your thought process on using the hybrid digital/traditional workflow. I’ve considered it myself but am currently all digital. What are the biggest benefits for you? Do you find you produce

I’m going to guess the bowl’s origin is perhaps India? The elephant iconography really reminds me of that style and the markings could be some form of Sanskrit, which would tie in with India and Buddhist

Thanks so much! I'm with you that I still gravitate toward more illustrative work in NFTs and art in general... but I see Punks and the various other NFTs as the digital equivalent of the modern art scene

Thanks @steevc, much appreciated! As we move into the winter here I'll definitely be dedicating more time to my own comic and personal projects which should generate a lot more to show here!
