About the only thing that wasn't an experiment for me was getting a bit more inking done on "I Thought It Would Be Zombies..." ...I'm used to that by now!
The first experiment was doing a bit of screen recording on my iPad Pro. I honestly had no idea there was an inbuilt feature for that which apparently arrived with iOS 11. Procreate is a fantastic app for the iPad which has an inbuilt feature to record videos of the artwork in progress, however, having moved most of my production over to the Clip Studio Paint app I was kinda missing this feature as it makes for some interesting content creation possibilities. So, I was excited to discover I can easily record my screen as I work in Clip!
My second experimental bout was just playing around in iMovie and learning how to do a couple more little things for video editing, as well as setting up a fresh YouTube account to hold some of whatever I might produce.
Consider the third experiment ongoing, as it relates to music! I'd read a bit about how you can actually utilize some copyrighted music within your YouTube videos. Whenever I work on a story, I have a tendency to soundtrack it in my head, so I have fun dropping some of that into videos or trailers that I may cook up, but like to try to keep it on the "up and up" from a legal standpoint. YouTube's system simply automatically allows the music artist to monetize the video instead of you. I'm just playing around... I'm sure if I get hugely popular that would not sound like a very good option... but for now it's fun to dabble and see if the video truly won't get banned or blocked! Plus... while I can't monetize the video, I of course can monetize sharing the video on Steem, which is the only place I have any modicum of social media following anyway!
So this was the result of my evening of dabbling. If I decide to do more video content I've got a lot to tackle like putting in some proper intro, credits, and marketing info. But I'll get there! It's about a half hour inking session sped up by a factor of 10. Hope the page motions don't give you whiplash!
If you'd be interested in more details or how-tos on any of the aspects listed above just let me know. I'd also love to hear if anyone actually enjoys seeing this kind of content from me. I am clearly a print oriented kinda guy... video is not the language I most fluently speak online, but I feel I should branch out more in that direction, streaming, etc. What do you think?
