Let's talk about children's education. The first thing I have clear and I have repeated it to my children is that a good student is a good student, regardless of where they are studying, that what they are going to do is with excellence and that they use intelligently the tools they have at hand and that they always, always read, because from a good reading conscientiously, comes a good analysis and even the initiative to have a good spelling and incidentally new words are added to their vocabulary, enriching much more their lexicon when it comes to speaking and writing. Having said that, I am going to give my opinion about home schooling, public or private school.... Which do you think is better and why?
First of all, I think that depending on the country, this education is good in public school or private school and even the one given at home. In my personal experience I have had the opportunity to have my children in private and public schools, myself in my time; I have also had to educate at home, at the time of the Covid pandemic, so I more or less have a vision of these three areas. In public school, children are given the opportunity to interact with other children, regardless of their social status. Empathy is also brought out, because they have the opportunity to see different situations with the other children.
For example, when I studied, I studied in public and private schools. In the public schools, I had the opportunity to help other children who did not have the same blessings as me, such as sharing my lunch or breakfast or other things. I had very good teachers in both places at that time, it was like that; nowadays, in our country, the teachers who are in public schools go to private schools for economic reasons and this makes you have to see with a magnifying glass, which public school is really suitable for your children to have a good education. This has happened to me with my younger children and, thank God, they have done very well. Of course, putting the best of them in their activities.
In private schools, in my school days, I studied in a nun's school and only girls. I didn't like it at all, because there are many situations and you miss out on other experiences that you can have in a coeducational school, so, from that point of view, I don't recommend it, that was clear to me. But things change when it is a coeducational private school, that is, with boys and girls, my oldest daughter did very well throughout her education, both in elementary, high school and college, besides having greater benefits in many aspects, better libraries, updated computer equipment, even in other environments, such as sports fields and others ...
Now, when Covid arrived, we had to educate my younger children at home and the truth is that we did not like it, neither them nor us adults, because I think that each to his own, I am not a teacher, precisely because I do not have the patience or the necessary pedagogy as I should and I had to implement some of all this, looking for help and relying on my husband, my eldest daughter. I definitely do not agree with home schooling, since children need their space and to live with other children of the same age, that is definitive.
So based on all these experiences, I conclude that a student in my country today should have access to private universities, as they offer a larger, catalog of professions and more experienced teachers in their areas (by the migration of teachers to these houses of study for economic benefit); but if the student can not access and it is up to him in a public university, as in a private, its excellence should speak for him; ie the school, university does not make the student, the student makes the university in many cases ... is my opinion.
