This is my friend Daysi, I introduce her to you, she is one of my childhood friends, she is like a sister to me. We met when we were about 10 years old; I remember that my family and I were moving to the community and logically I had to enter one of the schools in the area and there she was, thin at first, superodiosa with me ha, ha, ha, ha, I still remember that, but as we got to know each other, a beautiful friendship was born, that 40 years later, still remains in force.
We have shared everything, good times, happy times, not so happy times, sad times, losses, births; together we have gone through the different stages of life, part of our childhood, adolescence and adulthood. We shared our first confidences as women, that first love, that terrible disappointment, our first love experiences, our first work experiences, we even worked together for a while and an endless number of things that are impossible to summarize, we have stories to tell.
But there came a time when our lives took different directions, but during those times we always kept in touch, through everything, our marriages, children, other environments and even other countries ... when the economic crisis came to our country, she decided like many of our countrymen, emigrate, because she felt she had to do something for her family and for herself, so she decided to try new frontiers, for different countries, she was in Colombia, Peru and finally Chile. She spent 5 hard years away, missing her family, her roots.
For her family it was very hard her absence, but with the latent need, they could not do more than resist and long for her return. For my part I was no exception, every year she was away, for me and my family it was missing my sister that life had given me and for my children missing their aunt, as they learned to say since they were little, because she knew how to earn the affection and that place in their hearts. While she was working and traveling around these places looking for a better quality of life, also getting to know beautiful places in the process.
Until she decided to return to the country, her decision was due to family reasons and wanting to be more present with her parents, her nephews, she felt that she was missing many important moments with them; also tired of the loneliness in those places, because as she tells me the life of the emigrant is not easy and therefore she returned to her family and those who love her. The day came when she was able to join all of us and time has not been enough to catch up with us, ha, ha, ha, ha.
I thank God that he came back well, with many beautiful memories of all the countries he visited, that he met snow and different people. Now we only need time to talk about everything that has happened to us in all these years. With her I have proven that friendship does exist, that even though there are sometimes impasses, as in any relationship, true friendship lasts through time, stages, relationships, children, crises, life itself, I am grateful to have my "manita" (short for sister) as we call each other fondly and happy to have her back with us.
