To present a reflection, you undoubtedly have to experience an eventuality that makes you pause, where you evaluate what you've lived thru, and if you are prudent, you take that lesson to apply it from then on.
Although, as you say, it's easier said than done, it's true, but it depends on you. If, knowing where they scare you, you insist on taking the same path where you were scared, it's wise to recognize that, and it's for this reason that many of us take the task of sharing our personal reflections.
