These days I have been immersed in a series of family and medical situations that have had me on the ropes, which have kept me away from my beloved Hive and friends on the platform. My mother, due to kidney stone problems, has had to undergo two operations to remove them. To carry out these two operations has been extremely stressful, the odyssey itself, because I have been in the middle of a whirlwind of errands to acquire the necessary medical supplies for them.

As we Venezuelans know very well, getting sick is a nightmare, because apart from the ailment you may have, there is the headache, because of all the processes you have to go through to be able to solve your health situation, endless medical appointments with different specialists, expensive tests and each thing more expensive than the other. But if, on top of that, you have to go to a public hospital for the medical intervention, things get worse, since you do not have economic resources, as in our case.

In these cases, it is necessary to acquire everything from gloves to sutures for the operation in question, in our case, operations, without including the medical supplies, which may be needed separately, for the type of injury you have, as in the case of my mother, special catheters, which had to be used on her because of her condition. On the other hand, in all these errands and stay in the hospital, I have had to deal with all kinds of people; some very kind and helpful, but others with no empathy and even rude. Unfortunately, I have encountered more of the latter.

When you are dealing with this type of situation, you are very sensitive, anxious, worried and it is terrible when you run into these bad people, because your mood drops even more and you feel like you are on an island alone without even a canoe available to try to save you, it is a very intimidating and ugly feeling. But fortunately, just when you think you can't handle everything you're dealing with, someone comes along to ease your burdens.

Sometimes they are simple, strangers, who see you, that you can not move your family member and help you by giving them the place or opening the way, others who come and give you a helping hand in your worst moment of stress and together with a coffee that they bring you warm, they make your soul come to your body. These days I have been in an up and down of emotions, where I have not had much time for myself and that is why in this pause that my eldest daughter gave me to stay and take care of her grandmother and my closest relatives, husband, other children and a cousin-sister who has been one of my angels. Now that I am a little rested, I sit down to make my personal catharsis with you.

I have felt at times, so many fears, so many anxieties, also the economy that has not helped me much and that only God knows how we have been solving the situation, but that has caused me a lot of insomnia, anxiety, among other things. That is why sitting for a moment next to my laptop to tell you my nightmare of medical odyssey, frees me in part of these emotions that suffocate me, because of how constant they have been, these days.

Fortunately, my mother has been evolving positively and that is saying a lot and relieves some of the stress I still have. She will probably be discharged tomorrow, according to her doctors, and the worst will be over with God's favor. I already feel much better, because I did what calms my soul, writing, I missed them, and I injected myself with encouragement with each letter that I wrote in this writing. I ask God to touch more hearts, so that when you or I are facing difficult health or personal situations, those angels always arrive with a smile, a hug to support us, it is very necessary.
