With the new HF20, like many others, I’ve found myself seriously limited in posting and commenting. I was curious to know how much RC is consumed by the steem operation I use the most.
So here is the list of operation I tried and their approximated RC cost:

First thing, the RC cost estimate given on steemd for a post (1 570 000 000) is way underestimated, especially for a comment of lvl 3 (reply to a reply of a comment). And resteeming a post is not worth it.
Now, it’s no big deal if you are not a plankton, but if like me, you only have 15SP, here how it translates to your total SP:

You can only post or comment twice a day, and vote a few times if you don’t want to burn all your RC in a week (considering ~20% are recharged in a day) … This RC system, I don’t get it… For example, if someone read this post and comment, I won’t be able to answer them if I want to keep my RC… Where is the social part of that?
If there is something I missed, you can add it in the comments. Does the cost vary? With what? Why are comments costing more?

Ps: How I calculated it? I waited for 100% RC, did the operation, calculated the difference right away from steemd.
