Inktober Day 19 "plump"

We're slowly approaching the last third of October, and that means Halloween is getting closer too. Most pumpkins have already been harvested and are adorning carved decorations in many homes and gardens.

At the pumpkin festival we recently attended, there was a lot to explore. There were pumpkins that weighed almost a ton, making them among the largest ever. Naturally, there were also intricately carved pumpkins, and I even took photos of a few of them.

Wir nähern uns langsam dem letzten Drittel des Oktobers und somit rückt auch Halloween immer näher. Die meisten Kürbisse sind bereits geerntet und schmücken geschnitzt, viele Wohnungen und Gärten.

Auf dem Kürbisfest welches wir vor kurzem besucht hatten, gab es viel zu entdecken. Es gab Kürbisse, welche mit fast einer Tonne Gewicht zu den größten überhaupt gehören. Natürlich gabs auch kunstvoll geschnitzte Kürbisse und ein paar davon habe ich sogar fotografiert.

For my drawing today, I want to draw something inspired by pumpkins and, of course, combined with the word "chubby."

So, I grabbed my sketchbook and started working on the drawing!

But first, let's strike the word from the list:

Für meine heutige Zeichnung möchte ich, inspiriert von den Kürbissen und natürlich kombiniert mit dem Wort "pummelig" etwas passendes zeichnen.

Also Skizzenbuch geschnappt und rann an die Zeichnung!

Doch ersteinmal streichen wir das Wort von der Liste:

What is Inktober?
...Since 2019, artists around the world have been taking on the Inktober challenge by creating one ink drawing per day for the entire month.
 There is a given topic that should be captured in an 
image.

Was ist der 
Inktober?
...Seit 2019 nehmen Künstler auf der ganzen Welt die Inktober-Herausforderung an, indem sie den ganzen Monat über eine Tuschezeichnung pro Tag erstellen.
Dabei gibt es ein vorgegebenes Thema das in einem Bild festgehalten werden 
soll.

The idea was to draw a well-fed boy in a pumpkin costume. With a spoon and fork, he should be eagerly looking forward to the next meal.

I started with rough sketches to plan the composition and the positions of the boy and his costume. A few mushrooms in the background should complete the overall picture.

Die Idee war es einen wohl Genährten Jungen im Kürbis Kostüm zu zeichnen. Mit Löffel und Gabel soll dieser mit Vorfreude dem nächsten mal entgegenblicken.

Ich begann mit groben Skizzen, um die Komposition und die Positionen des Jungen und seines Kostüms planen. Einpaar Pilze im Hintergrund sollen das Gesammtbild abrunden.

Sobald das Lineart fertig und mit dem Fine-Liner nachgezogen war, war es wieder Zeit etwas Kontrast in die Zeichnung zu bringen. Dafür habe ich heute gelbe und orangene Buntstifte zur hilfe genommen.
Diese vertragen sich auch deutlich besser mit den Fine-Linern.

Once the line art was finished and retraced with a fine liner, it was time to bring some contrast to the drawing. For this, I used yellow and orange colored pencils today, which also blend much better with the fine liners.
