The past few months I have been helping my good friend who owns a landscaping company in Southern Colorado. He basically hired me to drive trucks with trailers and haul everything from materials such as rock, sod,fencing all the way to equipment and gear. We have literally landscaped a whole new sub division and I gotta admit, the neighborhood looks nice.
This is a brand new house and when we got here this was just a house and a mound of dirt. We trucked in loads of new materials and a little elbow grease and here is the backyard when we finished.
This fire pit is legit and its heavy! The base is just your basic breeze but the cool thing is if the owner ever decided to use pavers like we did on the walk path, putting down breeze would be step #1 anyway.
She must have a small dog because this little section of turf will never have to be mowed, watered or weeded. There are several different grades of turf and they are NOT all built alike. After seeing a few different types I can assure you that spending the extra money on the good stuff is well worth it when it comes to this type of product. You get what you pay for.
After putting up the new white vinyl fencing with concrete anchored posts, we built a garden with a complete drip system for watering. Filled it with 5 tons of planters mix dirt and spiked it into the ground for stability. The pavers for the walkway were miserable to install due to how heavy they are and the uneven surface they gotta look good on when finished.
It's cool to see it all come together, we have worked on all kinds of projects and in the future when we come across something cool I'll just get the drone in the air and film some of the project and run it in time laps for a video post.
Moving mother earth around everyday is backbreaking work, especially when your almost 50 but, I can use some good physical exercise a few days a week anyway. I will say, the level of soreness in the morning is much more than I bargained for sometimes. I drive a lot but there are many hours I am on the "business end" of a shovel, rake or wheelbarrow and I get a reality check quick that I'm no longer young and strong.
