WARNING: THIS IS A WINGE POST!

I recently arrived at a clients house to find some apauling pruning performed on some rather expensive Magnolia trees. I strongly doubt these guys have any qualifications in Aborculture.

The beautiful trees that had been brutalised

These Magnolia trees are huge and look beautiful!
They would be thousands of dollars to replace, considering you are lucky enough to find some this size for sale.
Now this next picture is an example of how they were brutalised.

This is some REALLY BAD pruning! These poor trees have clearly been pruned with a hedger or pole chainsaw and treated like a hedge. DO NOT DO THIS! It leaves wounds on the tree that will most likely NEVER heal and will be points for pests and diseases to enter.

I had to drag out the ladder and fix every single cut with my secateurs, it's simply not worth leaving bulk open wounds on such expensive established trees!

Please don't be like this guy and be so savage with plants. The are alive FFS....
anyway, rant over and happy gardening 馃槀
Sam.
