This is one of the most difficult aspects of avoiding arguments and toxic work environments. We are all changing (hopefully for the better) and as a result we either come into harmony with our surroundings or come into conflict with the world around us. It's not unhealthy! people change. What he thought would be acceptable in his teens or in his 20s may not resonate in his 30s, or may be completely unthinkable in his 40s.

As we evolve and the demands of everyday life change, so must our mental attitudes. In my twenties, it might be perfectly fine to tell clients to hit the sand, but I feel like someone in their thirties or forties would be more appropriate. As we continue to evolve as humans, do we maintain harmony in our affairs? When a job or career path conflicts with our moral constructs, it is our duty to reconsider.

Workplace addiction can be an emotionally and mentally draining event from any angle. We came to accept careers until we realized that employment provided us with a sense of identity and worth and that it made us who we are. We want to feel and know that every product or service we engage with makes the world a better place.

We certainly don't want to put our talents in a pitch review or "I'm here for the paycheck" vacuum. We want to know that we are living in harmony with ourselves even when we are Otherwise, we will waste the gift bestowed upon us by those who believe in us the most.
