Bitcoin's price is fluctuating a lot. As the year 2017 is ending, people are probably selling off their bitcoin, people are probably moving onto other crypto currencies. I wanted to see whether there's any similarity of bitcoin's price trend over years between the months of October and December.
2017 Bitcoin Price (Oct-Dec)
This year bitcoin has seen it's highest price gain. However, now the price is in correction phase.
2016 Bitcoin Price (Oct-Dec)
We can see that Bitcoin price has behaved similarly in the last year too. During the year end, the price was increasing with lots of swings, but the upward trend was obvious.
2015 Bitcoin Price (Oct-Dec)
2015 also shows similar trend. In the beginning of November, the priced dropped from its highest price point, but again it has an increasing trend with fluctuation.
2014 Bitcoin Price (Oct-Dec)
But 2014 is interesting. We don't see such trend. May be Bitcoin was going through lots of regulatory restrictions, it wasn't gaining enough confidence. So, we don't see an upward trend. In fact we see quite a bit of price decrease during the year end.
2013 Bitcoin Price (Oct-Dec)
2013 again showed similar trend as the recent years. Upward trend in general, but year end experiences some price drop.
So, it's interesting to see yearly periodic behavior of Bitcoin. I won't be surprised if Bitcoin price shows similar behavior in the coming years.
