This is a really important discussion. I encourage friends to consider homesteading as a side gig to improve one's food security, sustainability, and relationship with one's labor and food. If you could do it full time, that is an amazing story. But most people can homestead to some degree, and if everyone did that, we would live in a more decentralized and secure world. Think
It also can't be stressed enough that self-reliance does not equal being totally dependent only one's self. We are all embedded in a community that supports and guides us. And @innerblocks is a good example of that.
