There are a lot of moving parts that are contributing to low marriage rates but it is pretty obvious to me that men aren't necessarily the problem. A lot of women are actually waiting past their prime SMV (Sexual Market Place Value) years to try to go down a path of marriage and are oftentimes carrying all kinds of student debt and other sort of issues. 2/3rds of the student debt in this country is held by women and divorce rates in places like California are 60% or higher. It is the woman that initiates divorce 80% of the time statistically. It gets higher when we are talking about 2nd and 3rd marriages so oftentimes it isn't that great of an idea for men to get married considering they often will get the raw deal when it comes to the divorce courts. Who really wants to end up in a lengthy divorce / custody battle?
