This post is an entry into the weekly contest of 
California has a diverse climate and landscape as you likely know. There are mountains, deserts, beaches, forests, plains, etc in various parts of the state.
The plant life is unique as the landscape and you can find many great varieties - both in nature and in gardens - thriving in the various climates.
Check out this desert plant - just don’t get too close!
I usually wear pants while hiking as spiky plants like these seem to catch your legs out of no where!
