This post is an entry into the weekly contest of 
Southern California has many recreation areas and parks throughout its vicinity and that means man made lakes. These man make lakes are often stocked with trout and catfish for local fisherman, and largemouth bass and bluegill also are present, though not stocked.
I took the opportunity the other day to ride my bike to a local park and throw around a topwater lure for some bass. I fished for about an hour and had no bites but here are a couple of pictures:
The fish at these small park lakes are heavily frequented by fisherman and that make the fish smart and hard to catch. I figured I wouldn’t catch anything this evening, but at least I gave it a chance... you can’t catch a fish sitting on the couch!
