A week or so ago I shared a YouTube video of me prospecting for gold in the mountains. Well, the area is now on fire, as brush and forest fires have sprung up in the mountains above where I live.
Here is what the fire looks like:

Given the rugged terrain, the firefighters have to do aerial assaults on the fire dropping fire retardant and water only. if the fire starts encroaching on homes and other structures, the firefighters will try to build fire breaks to protect those areas, but its almost an impossible task given the size and magnitude of the fires.
Fires like these will happen, and the brush and forest will regrow but its still sad to see. It also can mean they need to shut certain areas off for a while, which is sad for people like me who like to hike, explore and gold prospect in the mountains.
