I was browsing crypto Twitter the other day and saw an add for an app named Coin Snap. In the ad, the app claimed to be able to tell you the details of any coin, including its estimated value, just by taking a pic of the coin.
That sounded pretty cool, so I downloaded the app to see how well it worked. I used a 2019 one ounce silver Maple Leaf coin and took the picts. Here was the result:
It said it was a once ounce gold Maple Leaf with a $20 dollar face value, which was way off from a silver coin with a $1 dollar face value. I manually selected a silver maple leaf, and here was the stats it gave on it:
Not impressed! No market value, lol. Good idea, but the app needs more work.
