With tonight being Friday night, I have plan to enjoy BJ’s Piranha Pale Ale this evening. I only recently tried this craft beer, so I thought I would share a little bit of a review on it today.
BJ’s is a restaurant and brewery chain that has been putting out their own beers for many years. When my wife and I were on a date night recently, I tried this beer in one of the restaurants and enjoyed it a lot so I picked up a 6 pack for a reasonable price.
The craft beer is an American-style pale ale that has a dark orange/brown color. It is in between their red ale and lager style beer in terms of taste. The beer has a medium hoppy-ness taste and is very smooth with a subtle sweetness from the malts. A good pairing for this beer would be a beef burger, bratwurst or meat-heavy pizza. Compared to many craft pale ales, this might be lighter and less ABV that most (5.7%), but it also has easy drinkability and is a beer that many people would enjoy.
Overall, I give BJ’s Piranha Pale Ale a 5 out of 5. I feel this is a great beer and has a good value as it is reasonably priced.
