Hi Friends,

The 3 day weekend is sadly over. It was a fun one for me and my family as we headed out to the Colorado River to spend some time with family.

We did a lot of boating on Saturday and Sunday, pretty much going out after breakfast and coming back in late afternoon. We did some wake surfing, swimming and hanging out on the beach. I was able to do a little fishing when we took breaks and ended up hooking 3 smallmouth bass and one largemouth bass, all of which were released. Here is one of the bass:

We did a little work around the house as well, redoing some planters and planting some cactuses. Being so active makes you hungry, so I ate big amounts of pizza one night and spaghetti another night. Jacob and Kendra also liked swimming more than any other trip so far, so we did a lot of swimming, which was good as it was pretty hot.

On Monday morning, I tried to run some buckets of classified dirt to hopefully find some gold, but I was unable to get my sluice to run fast enough to be effective, so I had to hand pan a little bit of my material - I only found a few small gemstones and no gold, but it was the least promising of my built up material, so I need to brainstorm a different method of running my dirt if I don’t want to hand pan the rest.

We had a fairly smooth drive home on Monday afternoon, and it feels good to be back at home in our cool house - the desert is hot!

Hope each of you had a good weekend as well!
