If you find yourself battling to separate your hair after washing it this could help. Before you shower divide your hair into 4 or 6 parts depending on its thickest and de-tangle using a bit of water & conditioner to soften and keeping the parts do your usual routine.
Finger Detangling
Instead of using the comb every time, try adding a bit of water and your usual moisturizer and working it in w/ your fingers and gently starting from the ends separate, feeling for knots to the root. Then maybe use the comb. This well reduce tugging & breakage.
Protective Styling
This is simply placing your hair into a wearable style to reduce the amount of manipulation. A great style is twist or plats done with your actual hair or using fake hair. Remember to moisturize your scalp when its in the style. Helps with length retention.
No Heat
It's nothing new that daily or even weekly use of flat irons, blow dryers or curlers are bad for your hair as they can lead to dryness eventually making the hair brittle and prone to breakage. Opt for air drying or roller sets for curls.
Deep Conditioning
At the very least, once a month give your hair some TLC and make or buy a hair mask and let it sit in your hair for 30 minutes to an hour. This will help to replenish moisture and overall provide a lot of shine and added strength to your hair.
