Me and wrastling dont really go back that far...im not really a fan of being sweaty, breathing hard and contorting my body around another mans...but I think wrastlers are pretty manly...
I was talking with my wife yesterday and she was sharing this thought with me that was profound and for whatever reason I compared to it an armbar.
She was telling me how forgiveness should be free but trust needs to be earned.
Ive learned in my 33 years that the closer you get to people, the more you allow yourself to love and be loved the greater the pain when people make poor choices. The same weight our choices have to love and build people they can proportionally tear people down.
If you've loved then you've been in the place of pain. What you do with that pain dictates how your life runs. When you are unable to forgive you live your life in an armbar. You have the perpetrator with the back of their heels pushing into your jugular while they are holding your arm in such a way that your shoulder is about to be pulled out of its socket.
Look at it again. When bitterness and the inability to forgive in your life you will have very little ability to do anything. You may be able to wiggle a bit in life...but thats about it.
My exhortation to you is if you have hurt toward someone today...let them go! free yourself, they usually dont even know.
Its probably a parent, an ex, or an old friend. Let them go. You will be able to function much better...
Lastly remember, you can freely forgive people...make them earn your trust
